Philip Davenport
Expert Adjudication is owned and managed by Phil Davenport.
Phil Davenport is a solicitor who has specialised in construction law for over 35 years. After retiring as Head of the Legal Branch of the NSW Department of Public Works, Phil taught construction law at the University of NSW, and refereed matters in the NSW Building Disputes Tribunal.
Phil assisted the NSW Department of Works and Services in the drafting and implementation of security of payment legislation in NSW, including the 2002 amendment.
He was Chief Adjudicator at Adjudicate Today from 2000 to May 2013. In that time, it is estimated that Phil trained approximately 100 adjudicators for NSW, Queensland, Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia and the ACT and adjudicated in excess of 500 matters.
Phil has written numerous books and countless journal articles on building and construction law, including:
